BULGARIAN BELLS (2022) for realtime Csound 5 and 6 (PC and Android versions) / Plus edition Arthur B. Hunkins abhunkin@uncg.edu www.arthunkins.com These .csd's are a supplement to those found in the basic edition of Bulgarian Bells. They duplicate the "originals" except for three added features, all dealing with randomization. These enhancements apply only to the bell samples, and to them *as a group* (not individually). Two of the new options are common to both computer and Android versions: randomization of pitch, and randomization of tempo (sample speed). A third option applies only to Android versions: randomization of bell velocity (volume). This feature can componsate for the lack of manual velocity control on Android devices. (Though workable, the velocity fader is not an especially intuitive or easy way to manage volume.) Selection of these options is made though several new MACROs: RPITCH, RTEMPO, and (for Android only) RVELOC. Both RPITCH and RTEMPO specify a range of random deviation from 0 to 1, varying both below and above native value (0 represents no deviation). RVELOC also delimits a range - that of random bell velocity - but in a different way. Its values run in one direction only - from full volume (0 randomness) to softer (potentially silent, at 1). Along with the other two enhancements, this feature can add significant animation to the bell samples. For all other instructions and information, please see BulgarianBells.txt.
